FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what people ask before booking a survey.
How do I know if I have Japanese knotweed on my property?
Send us a photograph by email or WhatsApp and we will reply with the answer. If it is knotweed, we can book a free site survey.
What does Japanese knotweed treatment cost?
Every site is different, so we price after a free site visit. You get a fixed-cost quote within a day of the visit. We have not been beaten on price by reputable competitors.
Can I spread the cost of the work?
Yes. We offer stage payments and accept credit and debit cards. If a lender holds back the cost of treatment, we can arrange for it to be secured as a bond payment through Bondpay.
How long does treatment take?
A herbicide and stem injection programme usually takes 1 to 4 growing seasons, depending on how far the knotweed has spread. Excavation clears the ground faster.
Can I treat Japanese knotweed myself?
Many people try, but shop-bought products are weaker than the herbicides a licensed company can use. DIY treatment often looks successful, then the plant returns stronger the next season and is harder to remove.
What does the law say about Japanese knotweed?
Having it on your land is not illegal, but it is an offence to cause it to spread. Knotweed is controlled waste and must go to a licensed landfill, carried by a licensed waste carrier.
Are the chemicals you use safe for pets?
Yes, they are safe for people and pets. Some products are not allowed in certain situations, which is why we always visit the site first.
Don’t gamble with Japanese knotweed

The survey is free. If you suspect knotweed, don’t be alarmed: call us or send a photo and we will tell you what it is.
